Usain Bolt, the fastest man on earth and 100m gold medalist at last year's Olympics, has confirmed his return to these parts for the London 2012 Anniversary Games, to be held from 26-28 July.

"I'm looking forward to coming back to the UK, especially with it being a year since winning three gold medals in the Olympic Stadium," said Bolt.

On top of the 100m gold, Bolt also won the 200m and was part of the victorious Jamaican 4x100m relay team.

"The crowd were amazing at the Games, and I hope they will be out again in their numbers at the end of July," he added.

The Anniversary Games forms part of the European athletics Grand Prix series, known as the Diamond League, the London leg of which had previously been held at Crystal Palace.

Other athletes confirmed for the event include British gold medal stars like Jessica Ennis, winner of the Heptathlon, double distance gold medalist Mo Farah and High Jump champion Greg Rutherford.

Bolt hasn't been to a London Grand Prix event since 2009 due to a tax issue, but that has now been cleared up and he says he is looking forward to the support of London-based Jamaicans.

"It has always been a great meet with lots of Jamaican support - it almost feels like running at home," he said.
